#21 - Drink 6 New Beers (contributed by Brian Moore)
January 2, 2009 - Tecate
- Yes, Tecate. I was in Keystone, CO for a New Years snowboarding trip.
Perhaps the copious amounts of other alcohol being consumed had
something to do with the fact that the Tecate wasn't terribly
memorable. What was memorable, however, was various people having to
shotgun these beers on the deck while playing a game.
January 16, 2009 - Budweiser
American Ale - Post-soccer game trip to the Dutch Tavern in New
London, CT. Like most Anheuser-Busch products, it wasn't all that
special.
January 17, 2009 - Ommegang
Abbey Ale - Christian Grove brought this to my 80s-themed 30th
birthday party. This is brewed and bottled in Belgium for Brewery
Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY. It is a sweet, potently flavorful beer and
is by far my favorite new beer of the year. Delicious!
January 23, 2009 - Shipyard
Export Ale - Picked up a six pack of this on the way to the
lakehouse for ice fishing. I remember it being
quite tasty, though admittedly the exact details of its tastitude are a
little fuzzy.
January 31, 2009 - PALM -
"Belgium's Amber Beer". Like most Belgian beers, it's a refreshing,
sweetish brew that tends to smother the mouth in deliciousness.
February 26, 2009 - I had three house brews at American Flatbread
Hearth in Burlington, VT. Unfortunately, I waited too long to add
them to this page so I cannot remember which beers I tried.
April 3, 2009 - Fish
Tale Organic Amber Ale - I was at The Spot in Hermosa Beach, CA for
Jason Rossi's bachelor party. This was a tasty beverage. Vastly
superior to the one I ordered afterward, the name of which I cannot
even remember (probably a suppressed memory situation because it was so
bad).
